Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Recognized for Biotech Innovation

It's terrific to be finding so many stories recently about schools and educators in Massachusetts and New England being recognized for innovative work in their schools. The latest award to come to our attention goes to Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough, MA.

The school received the Joshua Boger Innovative School of the Year award from the Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Foundation. The award recognizes achievement in progressive biotechology educational programming. Assabet Valley also won this award in 2008. A culmination of partnerships with MIT and UPenn, and a new STEM Alliance team have contributed to the school's ability to excel and support its students at the highest possible levels.

The Joshua Boger Innovative School of the Year award was established in 2010. Its namesake, Dr. Joshua Boger, PhD, is the founder of Vertex Pharmaceuticals in honor of his ongoing commitment to excellence in science education.
